Mold

Price: Mold- $100/Sample (Recommendation: 1 Sample/1000 Sq Ft)

“Why Do I Need a Mold Inspection?”

Mold can cause serious health issues. Molds produce allergens and Mycotoxins (a potentially toxic substance). Mold should not grow indoors unless there are moisture and temperature deficiencies in the building. Just the inhalation or touching of mold or mold spores can cause allergic reactions (E.g. hay fever-type symptoms, sneezing, runny nose, red eyes, and skin rash). Molds can also cause asthma attacks.

After detecting the contamination of mold it is recommended that you have a Tri- County Licensed Thermographer to detect these issues and suggest preventative measures. Mold infestation can occur in buildings where the cooling systems are poorly structured or maintained. A Tri-County inspector can identify these issues, and suggest a possible solution.

Chinese Drywall

Chinese Drywall- $275/Sample (Recommendation: 1 Sample/Large Room)

Price: $275

Description: A Tri-County team member will take a small (2”x2”) wall sample from each room. The wall samples are then taken to a lab for testing of Chinese Drywall.

Note: We recommended having a wall sample test instead of a visual inspection because the results are more accurate. Also, Tri-County is not held responsible for the repairs of the 2”x2” cavity left on the wall after the sample is removed.

“Why Do I Need a Chinese Drywall Inspection?"

Having Chinese Drywall in your home causes the emission of sulfurous gases such as carbon disulfide, carbonyl sulfide, and hydrogen sulfide. These emissions have the odor of rotten eggs and worsen as humidity and temperature rise. These emissions can cause copper surfaces to turn black and powdery, which is a chemical reaction with hydrogen sulfide. Copper pipes, wiring, air conditioner coils, and silver jewelry are all affected. Also, there are many health concerns with Chinese Drywall. Some reported symptoms include respiratory problems such as asthma attacks, chronic coughing and difficulty breathing, chronic headaches, and sinus issues.
